Emergency Service Representative
Job Requirements
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Emergency Service Representative to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing prompt and efficient assistance during emergency situations, ensuring clear communication and support to those in need. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a strong commitment to helping others.
Key Responsibilities - Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide accurate information and assistance
- Coordinate with emergency services and relevant departments to ensure timely response
- Maintain detailed records of all emergency interactions and actions taken
- Communicate effectively with callers to assess situations and provide appropriate guidance
- Support the emergency team with administrative tasks as needed
- Adhere to all protocols and procedures to ensure safety and compliance

Work Experience
Education & Experience - Completion of a high school level education with attainment of a high school diploma or a State High School Equivalency Certificate (GED). Completion of some college coursework is strongly preferred.
- Two (2) years work experience in a clerical or receptionist position in a health care setting such as an acute care hospital, physicians office, or a Health Maintenance Organization, performing admissions processing or registration work is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge - Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure
- Proficient in handling emergency calls and dispatching services
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Prior experience in emergency services or customer support preferred but not required
Working Conditions & Schedule - Weekend, shift work, on-call, holiday and overtime may be required.
- Usual office conditions involving a high- volume of public contact.
- Work requires walking and escorting patients to hospital rooms.
Patient Safety Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department or unit patient safety initiatives. - Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety
- Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority
- Implements policies, procedure, and standards consistently in the performance of assigned duties
- Develops effective working relationships and maintains good communication with other team members
- Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures, devices and communicates the same to those in charge
