Job Description
Moves/transports patients of various weight, ages and sizes to and from beds and ambulatory devices, to and from various treatment areas, using acceptable body mechanics while maintaining patient comfort and security. Functioning under moderate supervision, the Radiology Transporter transports patient to and from the Radiology department and performs a variety of clerical activities. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:This position has no supervisory responsibility. SKILLS & ABILITIES: - Ability to read, coordinate, and prioritize physicians orders for imaging procedures.
- Demonstrated medical terminology familiarity.
- Basic computer skills.
- Complete body mechanics training and basic transportation training within 3 months of hire.
- Knowledge of Departmental Procedures within 6 months of hire.
- The ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of all patient and departmental documents is required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:To qualify for this position, the candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.Previous hospital, clerical and/or patient care experience preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:CPR Certification required within six months of hire.
