Pharmacy Drug Use Policy Manager

As Drug Use Policy (DUP) Manager at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, you will lead a dynamic team in driving evidence-based policies, protocols, and initiatives through collaboration with medical, nursing, pharmacy, and other healthcare team members. The DUP Manager plays a key role in developing strategic initiatives, including evaluating new formulary requests and shaping policies and processes for improving efficiency. The Manager will lead a team of 6 Drug Use Policy Specialists and 3 Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists. Other responsibilities include developing content for Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committee meetings, collaborating with other healthcare professionals on complex therapeutic issues and leading targeted drug programs that optimize medication use, enhance therapeutic outcomes, and reduce unnecessary expenditures. #LI-RD1 Educational Requirements: - Pharm.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
- Completion of PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent practice experience preferred
License/Certification/Registration Requirements: - Current pharmacist licensure in the State of California.
- Board certification preferred
- BLS certification upon hire
What else are we looking for? - Prefer a candidate with a background in drug use policy, drug information services, formulary development, or leadership of clinical programs
- Maintains an excellent clinical database and critical thinking skills, including the ability to provide recommendations on the management of complex patients, utilizing organizational policies and evidence-based medicine.
- Possesses leadership skills to manage and coach drug use policy staff, including guiding workflow, providing feedback, and reviewing projects for Medical Center approval
- Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare disciplines to define and implement new clinical guidelines, workflow, or programs
- Shows support of medical center initiatives including the pursuit of clinical and operational efficiency
- Exhibits capability to teach and serve as preceptor for pharmacy students and residents.
- Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards relative to Health-System Pharmacy.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize projects to meet goals.
- Possesses ability to evaluate implications for the use of automated information systems with the development of clinical initiatives.
- Promotes a culture of medication safety
